Reknowned writer Sagar Sarhadi is no more ---A sad Day for the Film Industry

Reknowned writer Sagar Sarhadi is no more

A sad day for the Hindi film industry in losing a gem of a man , an intellectual writer-director, playwright and a thinker in Sagar Sarhadi. He was the man truly embedded to the earth. In spite of his fame in films, he was far away from showmanship. He was a firm practitioner of simple living high thinking. I still remember Sagar sahib commuting on bicycle from residence in Koliwada Sion to the Juhu and Prithvi Theatre dressed in his brand Kurta Pyjama even after the success of “Kabhie Kabhie” or “Kaho Na Pyar Hai”. Such persons are rare in film industry.

It pains when people only know him for his contribution as a writer of “Kabhie Kabhie” and “Silsila movies, relegating his unparallel achievements as a creator of Smita Patil Starrer meaningful movie “Bazaar” or the Box office smasher film “Chandni” as a co-writer. As a playwright ,he was regarded as a strong pillar for IPTA.
We will miss the simplicity and talent of Sagar Sarhadi but his memory will always remain alive .
OM SHANTI ! NAMAN !!  REST IN PEACE !!!
